Etta Barry to Speak on Hidden Learning Disabilities
February is Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM.) The Inclusion Committee of Adath Jeshurun Congregation sponsors activities to raise awareness and encourage action to include people with disabilities in all aspects of synagogue and Jewish community life. Our speaker, Etta Barry, has three children who have learning disabilities. Her two sons, Ben and Jacob, are currently attending college, and her daughter, Alex, is interning in Israel. Etta also works part-time at PACER Center as a Parent Liaison, working with MN private school parents and educators so that every child, regardless of their learning challenges, receives the best education possible.
Services will be ASL interpreted. Everyone is invited to the congregational luncheon following services.
