Dance & Music Performance By DaNCEBUMS

After a year of laying low, DaNCEBUMS have something new to share: "It’s All Real. It’s All Fake. It’s All DaNCEBUMS."
Part concept album, part dance concert, "It’s All Real.." takes its cues from reality television, talk shows, and social media. Set inside a cardboard tv studio, dancers glissade between precise technique and pedestrian efficiency as the performance degrades into a glitchy and unstable representation of itself. Neither representing nor offering any solution to contemporary life’s screen-based alienation and anxieties, this performance aims to unsettle the frame dividing real from fake and move through the fading illusion.
Performed to live music, "It’s All Real..." embodies DaNCEBUMS’ spirit of friendship and interdisciplinary innovation by continuing our collaboration with musical wünderkind Eric Mayson and under-the-radar visual artist/designer Matt Gorrie.
